Portraits in Miniature
A miniature has all the complexity and
detail of a full size picture in a fraction of the size.
If a miniature were to be enlarged many times
- it would still be faultless.
There are examples of
tiny graphite portraits like these,
(known as ‘plumbagos’),
dating from the 17th century,
in the Victoria & Albert Museum,
London.
A miniature, in a traditional frame,
can become a family treasure.
